There are many paths which lead someone to discovering Reiki. And when we do, it is the beginning of a journey filled with love, healing and personal transformation. Reiki expands our awareness, and opens us up to our full potential.

I am very honoured and grateful to be able to share the gift of Reiki with others, as a teacher in the Usui Reiki system.

Whoever you choose as your Reiki teacher, I welcome you with open arms into a global family of Reiki practitioners, all working as beacons of light on our beautiful planet. Thank you for stepping forward as an explorer of consciousness and what it means to be alive, just by being you.

You are incredible!

‘Balance With Reiki’ – Level One

‘Balance with Reiki’ is the name I use for the first ‘level’ of initiation and training in the system of Usui Reiki (also known as ‘first degree’ or ‘Shoden’). Level one is for anyone who is seeking a pathway for natural self-healing, or who wishes to begin deepening and accelerating their own spiritual development.

Level one will empower you with the ability and confidence to channel the Reiki flow (something which will continue to develop with time and practice). Often, It is also a catalyst for deep shifts to take place on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels. Promoting harmony and balance in our lives as we release old patterns which no longer serve a higher and more authentic version of ourselves.

Prerequisite for level one:

This is considered the beginner level training, equipping a student with the knowledge and skills to practice with family and friends. Therefore, no prior experience is required.

‘Flow With Reiki’ – Level Two

Flow with Reiki’ is the name I use for the second ‘level’ of training in the system of Usui Reiki (also known as ‘second degree’ or ‘Okuden’). This level is for anyone who wishes to take their Reiki practice even deeper. Level two increases the frequency of energy available to the student, allowing them to ‘focus’ the energy for particular levels of healing, and to also ‘send’ Reiki to someone who is not physically with them (known as a ‘distance healing’).

Level two is also commonly considered the practitioner level of training. Equipping you with everything you need to know for beginning professional practice, and charging for your time.

Prerequisite for level two:

In order to complete level two training, a student must have completed their level one at least three months prior.

To sign up to a national register (such as the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), a student must meet the National Occupational Standards. This involves the completion of some extra work. We discuss this as part of the level two training.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • I am a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), and the UK Reiki Federation (UKRF). I ensure all of my training courses meet the National Occupational Standards and a core curriculum for Reiki.
  • You will become part of a verifiable lineage, traceable directly back to Mikao Usui Sensei.
  • Any of my students who wish to become UKRF or CNHC registered can do so by applying to these organisations directly, with a copy of their training certificate and verifiable lineage. For practitioner registration, you will be asked to complete some extra work to be submitted directly to the UKRF. This is something I will support you with as part of the level two course.
  • I can teach all levels of Reiki, and will be available for lifetime support as you continue to walk your own Reiki journey.
  • You will receive a full and very comprehensive printed manual, along with certification after completing the course.
  • I emphasise the importance of Reiki as a spiritual tradition, with a focus on self-healing, and always honouring Mikao Usui Sensei's traditional teachings.
  • This is an opportunity for personal transformation and healing on many levels, as well as becoming a beacon of light on our planet, and joining a family of like-minded others.

To ensure this course falls in line with National Occupational Standards for Reiki, before issuing my students with a practitioner certificate they must also meet the following criteria:

  • Evidence of at least 100 hours of Reiki self-treatment.
  • 10 Case studies of at least 4 treatments each.
  • Evidence of at least 75 Reiki treatments given to others (treatments provided for case studies can count towards this number).
  • A minimum of 9 months must have passed since completing Usui Reiki level one.

As part of the level two course, I support my students who wish to become professional practitioners with compiling their portfolio of evidence. There is no timeframe for completing this home practice, only that a minimum of 9 months must have passed since completing a level one Usui Reiki course before I issue the practitioner certificate.

You can of course still take the level two course purely for self-development and taking your relationship with Reiki to a deeper level, with no intention of practising professionally or with members of the public. Completing the extra work is completely optional, and only for those who wish to eventually gain professional membership to a national register for Reiki practitioners.

After receiving your practitioner certificate, you will be ready to apply for membership to any of the professional organisations which require members to have been trained in line with the National Occupational Standards. This may include the UK Reiki Federation, The Reiki Council or the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.

When applying, you will be required to submit the above evidence of Reiki practice with yourself and others, along with a copy of your certificate and lineage.

You may also be required to complete a question paper to assess your practitioner knowledge, as well as being observed providing a treatment.

If you took your level one training elsewhere, I will ask to see a copy of your level one certificate and lineage (tracing directly back to Mikao Usui Sensei). And I will need you to confirm that your attunements were completed in person.

If you meet these criteria, I will be more than happy to accept you as a level two student!

*Please note that there would be an additional £10 charge for a copy of the level one manual if you do not already have one. The level two manual is already included in the level two course price.
